Membership Services Associate

Job Summary:

The Member Services Associate is responsible for creating exceptional customer/member service experiences and for the safe and secure day-to-day operations of the Kroc Center. Responsibilities include selling and/or verifying memberships through POS system, providing information and answering questions about available programs/classes, answering the phone in a courteous manner and directing calls to the appropriate destination, recording accurate and complete messages when necessary. In addition, the Member Services Associate receives and receipts deliveries and donations, greets and announces visitors and clients, provides general information about The Salvation Army Kroc Center operations and services and performs routine clerical work such as typing and filing.


High school diploma or G.E.D. required, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Gym Attendant

Job Summary

Provides general oversight over the Gymnasium, Leagues and Outdoor Recreation as well as providing general oversight of all gymnasium areas in the absence of the Sports and Recreation Manager. Work under the Sports & Recreation Manager to see that the recreational programs in the gym and on the fields are implemented as planned. Assist in maintaining the gym and the equipment. Ensure the safe use of facilities by overseeing events and assisting patrons.


High School diploma or GED


Two years of experience working in a gymnasium and/or sports league setting;


Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Must be 18 years of age

Personal Trainer

Job Summary
The Personal Trainer will conduct one-on-one fitness training, group fitness training, and class-sized fitness instruction for clients as assigned by the Fitness Manager. The activities of the members and guests they oversee will take place in all fitness spaces along with any meeting rooms. The Personal Trainer will also be responsible for conducting fitness equipment orientations, fitness assessments, fitness program design, and ensure the safe exercise and equipment operation of all facility members and guests when not currently engaged in a personal training appointment.


Bachelor’s degree in Physical Fitness, Health and Fitness, Exercise and Fitness or other equivalent degree;


One (1) year of experience as a Personal Trainer or Fitness Instructor;


Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Aquatics Lifeguard

Job Summary
Under the direction and supervision of the Lead Life Guard, the person in this position will observe swimmers, protect life, prevent accidents, enforce regulations, and do related work as required. Ensure that the aquatic operations are in compliance with established departmental policies and procedures.

Aquatic Lifeguard is an hourly position, which may be designed part-time, or as-needed.  Hours may vary.

Possession of current certificates in American Red Cross First Aid or First Aid for Public Safety Personnel (Title22) or above; CPR for the Professional Rescuer (CPR Pro) and Lifeguard Training required. Equivalent training certificates may be accepted. Applicant must provide proof of certification.

Childwatch Worker

Job Summary
Provides child care services for children ages 3 months to9 years including; assisting children with personal care and hygiene, developing learning and development activities, assisting with specialized programs; plans, develops, and teaches pre-school classes; prepares and maintains records; maintains cleanliness and orderliness of child care property.

Education and Experience
High school diploma or G.E.D. required,
two years’ experience teaching child development programs in a church or pre-school


Recreation Coordinator

Job Summary
Assists in planning, developing, and oversight of the activities of recreation programs and camps as well as the coordination of recreation program staff, ensuring that the mission of The Salvation Army is a top priority in all areas and activities. Maintenance of all recreation equipment including the gym, sport court, outdoor fields, and playground. High School diploma or GED, some college preferred; and professional experience in the Recreation/Sports field.


  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
  • Ability to plan work priorities, evaluate work performances and provide recommendations for improving productivity and efficiency of work.
  • Maintain a variety of internal and external contacts and work cooperatively with superior and subordinate staff.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work in order to accomplish work in compliance with quality standards and deadlines.


Summer Swim Instructor

Job Summary
Instruct aquatic private lesson to all ages and levels. Design instructional programs, and demonstrate proper techniques and styling to all levels of participants.


  • Prior experience teaching swim lessons And
  • Some College, or working towards a four year degree; And
  • Two to Three (2-3) years of lifeguarding experience; Or
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience with provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
