PERSONAL TRAINER

Job Summary
The Personal Trainer will conduct one-on-one fitness training, group fitness training, and class-sized fitness instruction for clients as assigned by the Fitness Manager. The activities of the members and guests they oversee will take place in all fitness spaces along with any meeting rooms. The Personal Trainer will also be responsible for conducting fitness equipment orientations, fitness assessments, fitness program design, and ensure the safe exercise and equipment operation of all facility members and guests when not currently engaged in a personal training appointment.

 Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Physical Fitness, Health and Fitness, Exercise and Fitness or other equivalent degree;

And

One (1) year of experience as a Personal Trainer or Fitness Instructor;

Or

Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

SWIM INSTRUCTOR

Job Summary

Instruct aquatic private lesson to all ages and levels. Design instructional programs and demonstrate proper techniques and styling to all levels of participants.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of current best practices in regard to the aquatics programs and keep current with new changes that will affect programs;

Knowledge of health and safety regulations as defined by the Health Department and The Salvation Army;

Ability to swim and extensive knowledge of swim programs;

Ability to deal comfortably with stressful situations, and follow emergency procedures;

Ability to multi-task, ability to follow instructions and complete tasks in a safe and effective manner.  Must be able to adhere to safe aquatic practices;

Ability to effectively build teams;

Ability to interact with co-workers and the public in a positive, professional manner in conformity with The Salvation Army Mission Statement.  Must be able to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances.

Ability to effectively provide leadership, counseling and education to youth, parents and staff;

KROC ASSOCIATE

Job Summary
The Kroc Associate is a part-time position focused on member acquisition and experience in the areas of Membership, Recreation, and Fitness. These staff members are responsible for participating in the creation of a welcoming, helpful and safe environment where individuals and families can learn, grow and thrive.

 Education and Experience

* Must be at least 18 years of age.
* High School diploma or G.E.D.
-and-
* Experience in customer relations and leading fitness and recreational activities preferred.
-or-
* Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Certifications

* Safe From Harm Certification
* Blood Borne Pathogens Certification
* Must have or be able to obtain CPR/First Aide/AED certification within first 30 days of employment.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions.

* Ability to meet attendance requirements.
* Ability to read, write and communicate the English language.
* Ability to demonstrate good physical condition and effort associated with walking, running, standing, and moderate-to-
advanced weightlifting in a fitness center environment including the ability to meet the demands of the gymnasium and
athletic field programs.
* Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull moderately heavy (25-50 lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment.
Moderate mobility: duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent changes
basis.

GROUP FITNESS INSTRUCTOR

Job Summary

Instruct group fitness classes to all ages and levels. Design instructional programs and demonstrate proper techniques and styling to all levels of participants. Participate in employee training/meetings and other occasional Kroc Center Fitness Department programs.

Have the ability to work with children, parents, and staff in a capacity of leadership, counseling and education including but not limited to:

    1. Ability to relate joyfully and sensitively to children of all ages.
    2. Sensitivity to children’s individual needs.
    3. Ability to use appropriate positive discipline consistently.

    5. Ability to handle security and crisis situations, calmly.

LIFEGUARD

Job Summary
TEnsure that the aquatic operations are in compliance with established departmental policies and procedures. Aquatic Lifeguard is an hourly position, which may be designed full-time, part-time, or as-needed. Under the direction and supervision of the Aquatics Manager and Lead Life Guards, the person in this position will observe swimmers, protect life, prevent accidents, enforce regulations, and do related work as required.

IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST

Job Summary

Assists IT Manager in day-to-day IT operations in the areas of user support, inventory and documentation, network and server support maintenance, and research and development for the Memphis Area Command and Kroc Center.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Demonstrated experience in installing, configuring, troubleshooting and problem- solving with IT equipment.

Knowledge and demonstrated experience supporting the latest Windows client operating systems and Office suites.

Experience with Microsoft Server operating systems and client-server software like Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and hypervisors/virtual machines is desirable.

Knowledge and understanding of the following network terminology is desirable: VLANs, TCP/IP and OSI models

Ability to clearly communicate highly technical information both verbally and in writing.

Ability to effectively and efficiently work on multiple projects.

Ability to support a diverse population in a tactful and efficient manner.

Must be self-motivated and able to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment in the absence of supervision
