Marty Parker | Ann Fitzgerald
Artist Reception: Sunday, September 18 | 1:30pm
Ann has been an artist for as long as she can remember. As a young child, she never wanted to waste her time or energy on coloring books. She instead wanted to draw and color from her own imagination. At that time her subject matter was always people. Although Ann now paints numerous subjects, they usually involve living things. There is always a story to be found in the subject matter, whether it be people, creatures, water, or vegetation . . . or just imaginary things.
Ann loves to produce paintings which will cause the viewer to see a story, or identify with them as part of their own lives. There are similarities in all of us, but differences too. She loves to capture all of that in her paintings. When she paints, she is giving the viewer a part of herself. Ann hopes you will feel an emotional response to her work.
Ann has attained signature status in several well-known art organizations. Among them is “Memphis/Germantown Art League,” “Tennessee Watercolor Society,” and “International Society of Experimental Artists.” Although “The Mississippi Watercolor Society” is no longer in existence, she was a signature member when it was. With these and other organizations, she has won numerous awards and has always enjoyed the competition.
My talent is a gift.
My right is to enjoy it.
My responsibility is to develop it.
My desire is to share it.
Thereby saying thank you to HIM who gave it.
